Guardianship & Conservatorship

Guardianships and conservatorships are a means to take care of an incapacitated person’s personal and financial affairs. If an individual has a durable power of attorney for finances and healthcare, a guardianship is seldom used. A guardian and conservator are appointed by a judge and are required to report to the court on their activities on a regular basis, usually annually.

Once a guardianship and/or conservatorship is established, we can provide guidance regarding the guardian’s duties and/or conservator’s duties as different circumstances arise. With our assistance you will feel confident that you are meeting your standard of care and duty of diligence as a court appointed fiduciary.
