Boyce Law Promotes Patrick J. Knecht and Matthew D. Murphy to Partners

Patrick Knecht served as the Law Clerk for the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court in Mitchell, South Dakota after graduating with honors from law school at the University of South Dakota in 1996. He practiced a number of years in Sioux Falls with the national law firm of Kutak Rock LLP in Omaha, Nebraska. Patrick joined Wells Fargo Financial’s legal department in Des Moines, Iowa, a Senior Vice President and the Managing Attorney of the department’s Commercial Law/Finance Section. In 2004, Patrick returned to practice law at Boyce Law Firm.
Patrick guides clients through all aspects of real estate transactions. His clients, benefit from Patrick’s practical and service-oriented approach. With nearly twenty years of experience in handling all law matters, Patrick is a great addition as partner.
Matt Murphy grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota and attended the University of South Dakota for both undergraduate and law degrees. He played football for the University and was involved in various organizations while graduating with Sterling Honors.
Following law school, Matt completed a clerkship with the Second Judicial Circuit in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He then joined the Firm’s Litigation Section in 2011. He has represented clients in both the State and Federal Courts of South Dakota, including at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and has prepared and represented clients at depositions, hearings, in court trials, jury trials and mediation.
A litigation specialist focused primarily on guiding hospitals and health care practitioners through health care litigation, Matt also excels in employment litigation, premises liability and other commercial litigation.
